Finding the Right Tools to Keep Kitchen Prep as Clean as Possible

Now more than ever, the three most important words in food preparation are: clean, clean and clean!

Change has come to the back of the house just as much as the front and restaurants have once again stepped up. We know what to do. We know food safety and we know we need to wash our hands, wipe down food surfaces and wear a mask when around others and food.

Every bit counts and no mistakes is the only answer.

That’s why I love the Power Prep produce washing sinks. They are truly unique. They do what they say they will do: help clean my food better, keep my food fresher and give my food extended shelf life. (That last part is especially important to minimize costly food waste.)

The ability to use the Power Prep Advanced as a powerful food production tool and completely clean and sanitize with it makes me a very happy chef! The entire food contact surface of the unit, including the propeller for the pump and all of the pump housing, is able to be removed and scrubbed for proper and effective sanitation.

As a chef, this gives me the ability to not only wash and clean whole vegetables, but cut produce, proteins and just about anything else I would use a food sink for in a commercial kitchen.

Power Prep has a patented, gentle, free-flowing wash action that rotates produce in a circular motion – which means the product is fully immersed in each bay when it’s being washed. Product removal is a simple task because Power Prep has easy-to-use, self-loading metal baskets, allowing operators to avoid touching the finished product and providing a more ergonomic workflow.

Add the protein-thawing capability, which saves commercial kitchens valuable time during pre-service prep and busy shifts, and Power Prep becomes an indispensable addition to any professional food service operation.

There’s obviously a lot that goes into having a clean and sanitary kitchen space. It can take a lot of work but times like these call for putting in that extra effort. That’s why it’s so important to find equipment, like the Power Prep Intro, Power Prep Advanced or Power Prep Unlimited, to be in your corner to help with the figurative heavy lifting.
