Nobody in the world knows more about warewashing than Bob McNamara.
Having been in the foodservice industry for 44 years, Bob has been a valuable source of knowledge for Power Soak and other warewashing equipment. He is the heart and soul (and brain) behind Power Soak – recording useful How To videos, being a wealth of information for reps and helping customers solve their warewashing challenges while saving them money in the process.
“We’re soldiers against bacteria in a world full of germs,” he likes to say.
Not only is he the finest warewashing mind in the world, but he’s got a big heart too.
He has served on the Industry Advisory Board of SHFM, which recently recognized Bob with an award for the Hunger Games Hall of Fame. The Hunger Games runs fun competitions to raise money for a local food bank that doesn’t have national support – this year they raised more than $30,000 for UpRoot Colorado.
“To see so many people having fun while raising money for a good cause, I really appreciated the chance to help,” Bob said of Hunger Games.
Anyone who knows Bob knows he is passionate about his product line, and he’s developed some incredible relationships in the industry. Here’s how other Product Line Managers summed up Boston Bob:
Walter Trapp, Groen: Bob definitely missed his calling. He should have been a stand-up comic. He captures and keeps his audience’s attention for great interaction. He helps us get better and makes our jobs easier because of the extensive experience he has with Power Soak and in the industry. The best part of Bob? He’s 100% a team player. He is always willing to do what it takes to help everybody.
Jefferson Kenney, Avtec: Bob is the bar all trainers are held up to. He always has the audience in the palm of his hand. Following him during trainings has forced me to up my game! He is second-to-none for warewashing and dish room knowledge, but leaving it at that misses so much about what is great about working with him. Whether you need a sounding board to bounce ideas off or a light for your cigar, Bob is your man.
Dave Rademacher, Randell: Bob (Bawb) is a kind man who is passionate about Unified Brands and Power Soak, which is inspirational to everyone. He is typically very candid, sharing his thoughts and opinions both honestly and respectfully (this is often hilarious!). The combination of his passion and transparency make him well-respected by customers and peers.
Tim Franks, CapKold: Bob is a great storyteller, but with limericks and jokes. He knows how to wake up the crowd with his comments and then get back on track. He is well-spoken, but will pull a group aside (“come here, come here, let me tell you something”) then get you hooked on a great story from the past and tie everything together with a joke at the end.
It’s undeniable: Bob’s passion to drive growth of the Power Soak line, his knowledge of the equipment category and his leadership within the company help make the brand what it is.
We congratulate Bob on the well-deserved recognition for helping raise money for a wonderful cause! His expertise and willingness to help others perfectly shows what type of organization we strive to be. We’re so proud that he represents the Power Soak product line and are so grateful to everything Bob continually brings to our team!
